ELS ELOIS.

Hace unos meses me presente, una vez más, a un concurso de carteles. Esta vez era para las fiestas dels Elois de Berga, que se celebran en Julio. Esta fue mi propuesta. No gane, pero creo que mi cartel era diferente a las propuestas presentadas hasta entonces. Mi propuesta reflejaba el espíritu de la fiesta destacando a los caballos, las calles del casco antiguo, la alegría y el agua... y que es básicamente es de lo que trata la fiesta.
Os hago una pequeño speak que explica el origen de las fiestas: "Els Elois era una fiesta antigua de los gremios / oficios. Entre otros gremios els Elois estaban compuestos básicamente por los traginers, que era el oficio que aportaba el mayor numero de cofradias. Eran los más nombrosos y en los actos tenían mucha importancia y repercusión. Toda cofradia prestaba adoración a algún santo. Era una fiesta religiosa y por eso que se escoge a St Eloi que era el patrón de un gran numero de oficios diferentes. Las celebraciones consistían en hacer diferentes pasadas por la ciudad con sus mejores galas y con los caballos donde eran bendecidos por el agua. Iban desfilando como si se tratase de una procesión como prueba de la devoción al Santo."

Els Elois. A few months ago present me, once again, to a contest of cartels. This time was for the holidays dels Elois of Berga, which are celebrated in July. This one was my offer. Do not win, but I believe that my cartel was different from the offers presented till then. My offer was reflecting the spirit of the holiday standing out to the horses, the streets of the old town, the happiness and the water ... and that is basically is of what treats the holiday. I make to you one small speak that explains the origin of the holidays:" Els Elois was an ancient holiday of the unions / trades. Between other unions els Elois was composed basically by the traginers, which it was the trade that was contributing the major number of confraternities. More nombrosos were and in the acts they had a lot of importance and repercussion. Any confraternity was giving adoration to some saint. It was a religious holiday and because of it that is chosen to St Eloi that was the boss of a great number of different trades. The celebrations were consisting of doing different spent by the city with his better shows and with the horses where they were bless you for the water. They were parading as if it was a question the Saint as a procession in proof of the devotion. "
